Reference: Matthew 6:9-13 – Holy Bible
When thou prayest;
- Thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen often.
- Praying is like communicating to God and our way of keeping in touch with Him. So, when you pray, enter thy closet according to the verse and shut the door or be in a quiet place where you can be alone to be able to talk to your God and where nobody can disturb your meditation.
- Talk to the Father in a secret place and He shall reward thee openly.
- If you’re comfortable closing your eyes when you pray, the better. One way to avoid seeing things that can disturb your communication with Him. But that’s up to you.
- Do not use vain repititions as the heathen do, for the Father knows your desires
- Pray after this manner:
“Our father who art in Heaven hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever… AMEN”
How often do you pray each day? Is it only when you want to thank Him? I’ll leave it up to you. If you like to get closer to God, constant communication with Him is good and will help you in your daily undertakings. It is good to always thank Him for the life we have, the air we breathe each day, the sunshine, water, and a lot to be thankful for. If you are really sincere of the things you ask from Him and have the faith, then, He will surely give His best for you.
